Sinulog 2010 Cebu Philippines

Sinulog is the gradest celebration of the country. Celebrated at the Queen city of the South, it is the grandest and richest celebration of culture and religion.

Sinulog 2010 will be another fun-filled celebration. People form all over the country celebrate the feast of Sr. Sto. Niño.

Traditionally, Cebuanos attends a nine novena mass before the celebration at the Basilica. In connection to this, we were assigned to watch over and provide medical first aid during the first novena mass tomorrow.

Sinulog is a dance ritual in honor of the miraculous image of the Santo Niño. The dance moves two steps forward and one step backward to the sound of the drums. This movement resembles the current (Sulog) of what was known as Cebu’s Pahina River. Thus, in Cebuano, it’s Sinulog.
