NCM 100: Applying the Theory

During our NCM100 class this morning, after we discussed the Nursing theories of Jean Watson, Josephine Paterson, etc... we had  a group activity. Given a specific situation, we are asked to choose which Nursing theory is best applied.

In our group, the situation was about a patient with stroke and had developed Pneumonia so she was transferred to a hospital and after checking her vital signs, and during her Physical Examination (PE), the nurse found out a red sore on her back. The nurse diagnosed the bed sore and reported it.

We chose Faye Glenn Abdellah's Theory since the situation involved problem solving (the nurse) and the use of NANDA in the nurse's diagnosis.
